Project IMG City Chapters bring our global community to life at the local level. Across cities in the United States, international medical students and graduates come together to learn, serve, and lead with purpose. Each chapter is a place where IMGs find belonging, build genuine community, and take meaningful action that impacts real people and strengthens the future of healthcare. This is where the movement becomes local, personal, and powerful — a united network of IMGs transforming lives city by city.

WHAT IS A CITY CHAPTER?

A Project IMG City Chapter is your local gateway into our global community. It is a hub where IMGs come together to:

  • Build Community - Meet people who understand your journey, share your goals, and walk the path with you. 

  • Grow Together - From study groups and mentorship circles to guest lectures and residency preparation sessions, each chapter creates local opportunities for academic growth and leadership development.

  • Serve With Purpose - Every chapter engages in humanitarian service free and charitable clinic volunteering, health fairs, community outreach, and partnerships that uplift vulnerable populations.

  • Advance Advocacy - Chapters help advance our legislative mission by mobilizing IMGs, amplifying physician workforce issues, and supporting state and federal advocacy efforts.

City Chapters are the backbone of Project IMG’s grassroots movement.
They transform online connection into real-world impact by:

  • Creating direct pathways to service and leadership

  • Forming partnerships with clinics, universities, and local organizations

  • Tracking measurable impact across cities nationwide

  • Empowering IMGs to contribute meaningfully to their communities

Each chapter is aligned with our three pillars:
Medical Education, Humanitarian Service, and Legislative Advocacy.

HOW TO JOIN YOUR CITY CHAPTER

Joining a City Chapter is simple:

1. Select your city and complete the Project IMG Membership Form

Select your city so we can place you into the correct chapter and track your engagement.

2. Join Your City’s WhatsApp Group

After registering, you’ll receive an invitation link to your official chapter communication channel.

3. Participate in Local Events

Attend meetups, service projects, study sessions, and advocacy events tailored to your city.

4. Make an Impact

Every member contributes to our national People Impact Metric — tracking people served, volunteer hours, educational events, and humanitarian outcomes.
